@subashbala Please read my post again. I wasn't comparing the two musical geniuses. duckwalkerindian was referring to Tamil's taste in general and obviously he isn't impressed by Rahman. I was wondering if he likes/respects Ilayaraja who is also adored by Tamils.

@duckwalkerindian Tamils' music taste is pathetic, eh? We adore Rahman but do you know the most favorite composer of most Tamils? Let me give you a clue - it is not Rahman. Heard of Ilayaraja? It may be far fetched to call Rahman the Mozart of Madras but Ilayaraja is India's Bach and anyone who has heard his music will agree with that.

Ilayaraja has composed for more than 900 movies, several non-filmi albums and is fondly called a maestro for his expertise in WCM.
