The worst thing is knowing you're way better and still getting doubles the whole time:P And then you try your best fencing, and then they just walk right through it and hit you>_>

A bit more strategy than that. To be any good you have to think as fast as the sword, think of it as a very fast chess match.

3.hope you get a hit

UG I hate unpredictable newbies!!!!! make a usually effective feint, and they stick their arm out not knowing what else to do!!!!!! GAH!!!!!!!

everyone who fences can do foil, it is the most basic weapon which is why you get taught it first. and "complex rules" lol not they are the easiest bouts to ref. they do have hard blade work but the small target makes it easier not harder to defend. in sabre and epee flicking it the best weapon and it's very hard to prevent.

Where are you from and what competition is this? Where i fence, i could get a black card for wearing cool socks. I WANT TO WEAR COOL SOCKS! but all the "posh" fencers think its "distracting"
