On March 28, 2009 Razily, a lone protester, held the flag of Madagascar aloft in silent protest of a coup d'etat by Andry Rajoelina and mutineering soldiers. He stood firm as soldiers lobbed tear gas at him ... and inexplicably, began marching forward, "protected" by a red book bag on his chest.

Arrested almost immediately, Razily and two others who followed him were taken into detention. As of the time of this video's posting, their whereabouts and status are unknown.

I urge all people - especially the foreign press corps - to press Andry Rajoelina's HAT government to elaborate on Razily's fate.

  • My tears surround me everytime I see this video. I would like to have his braviour

  • lawl, what tear gas? I don't see shit.. keep making stuff up

  • Epic.

  • an example!

  • No I do realize that, that was part of my point...

Hey if you think I have my opinions made up about Madagascar's new government: you have me all wrong...

to me (only seeing western media) the western powers do not like the new government... That alone is enough reason to give the new government a chance. however conflicting is Andry's wealth and family military background.

and if andry hates persecution, why does he shut down protests and alternative media?

  • Stemcell. What you don't realize is that this man is protesting against Rajoelina's newly installed government. The same one that you cheered on after watching "Diary of a Coup". Don't you see how quickly the oppressed became the oppressor?
