How To: Embed HD Youtube Videos Tutorial

A question I get quite often has to do with embedding HD youtube videos. The problem with the embed code you get off of the youtube site is that the video does not get embedded in high definition. To force HD playback in your embedded videos you need to add the code &ap=%2526fmt%3D22 to the end of the two links in your embed HTML.

Pretty sure YouTube removed this feature. You can't select the video quality now unless you have the appropriate video size.

Okay since this post I have been using the new code and now it will not work on my site... I have it set to ?hd=1 after my video url and it still plays in 360 and not 720p any suggestions on this. You can see it at

Heres one for you . I always have uploaded my youtube videos and wrote yt:quality=high in the tag and it would force playback of my videos in high quality most importantly the audio would play the full 15khz mp3 . This no longer works on youtube do you have a solution for this. otherwise it cuts the audio at 10khs .unless you upload in Hd and conveince the watcher to press the HD button. It was better the other way smaller files on the servers with higher quaality audio playback
