  • lol holy shit i was looking at something else on a different website and this video ended and that damn prototype ad came up and scared the shit out of me. and thanks for the info i really needed it since my telescope will be here in 4 days. and that telescope comes with an equatorial mount and a large Collapsible Aluminum Tripod with Accessory Tray.

  • Congratulations on the telescope you are getting. Have fun with it!

  • I used to have a telescope, but I never really figured out how to use it. I had the alt-azimuth mount, I think...

  • You probably had a alt azimuth mount and they can be very tricky to use. I hope you don't give up! See about getting another telescope. It has brought a lot of wonderful joy and exploration into my life. the night sky is remarkably beautiful.

  • can any equatorial mount telescope move the same way as you showed with the bigger scope? i was just wondering cause i recently bought one with an EQ mount and im having trouble using it since i have never seen anyone but you, show how a scopes moves. thanks for vid very intuitive!

  • Hi, Congratulations on your telescope! Yes, every equatorial mount moves in this odd kind of fashion. But a couple of things. There may be some little locking screws or thumb knobs. they may be holding it in place. just check for them. Also, my mount is set an an angle that points at the north star for where I live. Your mount, being new might be pointed at any angle. its kind of tricky but just spend some time moviing it gently. You will get the hang of it. Glad to help, fire off any questions

  • Very good explanation. I am trying to get people to do equatorial mount for solar cookers. But most of them do not understand. Good work. Thanks.

  • Thank you very much I've had my Celestron AstroMaster 114 for about 2months not knowing about how to use the Eq. Mt . You've given me the basic idea and I get it. Thanks again!!!

  • thank you =)

  • Your presentation is easy to understand, thanks!

  • I'll probably look into it. I'd like to finaly see just exactly what's really up there! My question is finding one that isn't too expensive...
