4 man amateur MMA tournament in Thailand - Opening Fight 1

This tournament was held at the Tiger Muay Thai training facility. Every "Full Moon" the camp promotes an amateur night of "smoker fights". These fight cards combine Boxing, Muay Thai, and MMA fights. July 19th 2008 BBQ Beatdown fights featured a 4 man under 85 kilo MMA tournament.

Fighters wore shin pads and 8oz "shooto style" gloves. No knees to the head when the opponent is standing or on the ground. Knees are permitted only to the body from the standing position. No upkicks, or down kicks from both combatants when a fighter is on his back. And no leg submissions. This tournament featured 2 rounds of 3 minute duration.

The first round featured Mike Hutchison from Canada vs. fellow Canadian Jason Saggo. The other bracket featured Andreas Hesselback of Sweden vs. an American KOTC PPV veteran.

Mike Hutchison (Green Sprawl shorts) wrestled for Mcmaster University. He recently won the Lordz of Pain Singapore advanced Nogi under 84 Kilo division, as well as the Intermediate Pan Asian Grappling held in Manila Philippines. He is 3-0 as an amateur and 0-1 as a pro.

Jason Saggo (Red Muay Thai shorts) is a Marcus Soares blue belt, and has a 2-0 Pro Muay Thai record this was his MMA amateur debut.
