Future Lions 2010: A film by Mien Ngo & Lanah Phan.
Global Brand: Walt Disney
Disney captivates children and parents alike; however, as these children grow up, Disney loses its connection to them. Whilst this segment (Generation Y) are still moved by the trigger of childhood memories, they now feel too old (and cool) to be a Disney enthusiast.
In order to re-engage with Generation Y, hologram 3D technology will be utilised a medium which is already catching their attention. By strategically placing 3D life-sized holograms of Disney characters around popular locations frequented by Generation Y, these characters will help generate interest and intrigue to passer-bys by dropping clues via Bluetooth about an upcoming event. The event, an interactive 3D hologram performance taken place amongst the audience, will allow participants to physically take part in Disneys storytelling process and history in the making.
By incorporating Disney with social networking mediums and modern technology, this will help shift Disneys brand image into one accommodating to the declining Generation Y market, by reminding them of the feeling Disney once gave them, to invoke a feeling of eternal youth.
