About Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased):
Marty Hopkirk and Jeff Randall are private detectives. Marty is abruptly killed during a case the night before his wedding to Jeanie. Marty returns to Earth as a ghost that only his partner Jeff can see to help solve his murder. Afterwards, Marty sticks around and assists Jeff with future cases. Trouble and humor ensue as Marty is taught what it means to be a ghost. When Jeff and Jeanie start falling for each other, jealousy and fights arise between Jeff and Marty ultimately leading to a severed bond between the two. Marty is taken to a 'resort' for lost souls where two evil spirits are intent on wiping out Marty's memories of Jeff. The status quo is restored, when Jeff acknowledges Marty's existence, and the two learn the importance of teamwork.

Well, the point of this challenge was to get us out of our comfort zone and challenge us, and this video was certainly challenging. I've never worked with this kind of song before. It took me a bit to find an appropriate fandom. Finally settled on Randall & Hopkirk (Deceased), the 2000 remake of the 1969 show. Given how difficult it is to track down clips on YouTube, let alone copies of the whole episodes, I am fairly confident that this is the first R&H fan vid. I don't think it will be the last either. I already have a couple of ideas in my head for future vids. Like I really needed another fandom to vid. :P

Technical Notes: The footage all came from downloaded episodes as the DVDs were never available as Region 1, and the Region 2 DVDs have apparently been discontinued (Amazon). Also while both series were filmed in 16:9, series 1 DVDs were released as 4:3 which irritated me to no end and is why this video is in 4:3. I apologize for any incorrect aspect ratio that may have occured when converting clips.

To any Doctor Who fans who may watch this: Yes, that is Tom Baker's voice in one of the quotes. He also pops up briefly in a few clips. :) David Tennant guest starred in the premiere, though he doesn't appear in this video. His character was psycho!

Finally!!!!! Video on R&D! Love the show!!!!saw it like 9 years ago and it's still one of my favourite.

Yeah, I fell in love with the intro's audio as soon as I heard it, but I was too worn out from editing the actual video to do anything too fancy with the text. But I'm content with this current version. This song really was difficult to edit. I'm glad you think it came out well! Thanks for commenting!
