Very nice A Ascona, my Dad´s second Car in the 70´s.
I´am the Owner of a Kadett C Coupe GT/E 2 called: "1000er Serie" since 25 Years.
CIH Power is the only Legend. :-))

She's a beauty, congratulations! CIH I presume? ;)
What engine is under the bonnet? :)
I have two Ascona B's! One is a 2.2 and the other is a 2.7. Both CIH of course ;)
Only a couple of modest crappy videos in my profile, check'em out if you like! :)

Yes. The entire engine was removed from a road car. Only thing changed were adding twin Mikuni 44 mm carburetors (previously had one 38 DGAS Weber), and changed from Opel 'Sprint' exhaust manifold to custom 4-1 tubular exhaust manifold (header), with shortened exhaust exiting from side of vehicle. Otherwise, same engine used in daily road-use Opel.

CIH engine, 2.0 litre with ported 1.5 head, larger valves, fast road cam. We just removed the crappy Getrag 240 (bad synchros and even worse ratios) and fitted a Quaife C/R 4-speed gearbox.

We tested with two sets of wheels in this video, one set are Keizer racing wheels, the other set are BWA Sportstars (from 1984!). Right now the car is running with Rota RB's. All are 13" x 8".
