  • love the energy to this tune!

  • Thank you so much for posting this cut. Special EFX still playing and incredibly tight band, led of course by Chielli. RIP George Jinda. First heard Uptown East live when SEFX played the Syracuse Jazz Festival in the late 80's-early 90's. Still sounds phenomenal.

  • this was 30 years ago?!?! whoa!

  • Thirthy yrs ago was heard SpecialEFX during my solitude jouneys in my old Golf convertibile. George Jinda (percussionist) was death some yr ago after difficult illlness. Last yrs Chieli Minucci (guitarist) still played with SpecialEFX brand for aid to pay cost research on illness of George. Great history of Heart and Art.

After 30 yrs , can still feel atmosphere

  • "Slice of Life" is now available on iTunes.

  • Only just discovered Special EFX 6 months ago and now they are my favourite Jazz band. This is one of their best, so catchy, just love it.

  • Is this what was called "fusion" ... The mix of prog. rock and jazz-funk? I love this track. I discovered Special EFX around the time this LP was released, a friend of my father's had the record. The Flow is great too.

  • la cercavo da tempo ... grazie

  • Bought their greatest hits collection in '95, a 2nd hand casette, in Seattle just prior to embarking on a 6 month tour on a salmon processor in Alaska. This tune was used as a themesong for some NPR program, which my mother always had on back home in upstate New York, and tho i didnt know the title or that it was on the casette, and since we had to provide opur own music as there were no broadcast stations, when I 1st heard this, i felt a tangible tie to my estranged family back home

  • Beautiful! I like this !
