I have not find this to be too slow.

EXT is too slow... ...but i like your work. I think jquery or mootools will be more suitable. If mapfish is popular for openlayers, but i do not think Ext is suitble for the GIS client side development.

Hi,
Ext isn't too slow if you want to make an experience of desktop. The main of ExtMap is not performance, it is based on usability. I know JQuery or other tools are fast enough but performance is just one thing in GIS Applications.
I have worked with DOJO, YUI, JQuery and Ext JS and Ext JS has the best UI among others.
Anyway, this is a choose so that it depends on people needs.
