  • This a joke, Cipollina could outplay Garcia any day, any time. Gimme a break.

  • @jltardiff No my friend ..no jokes intended....John is my "Ultimate" he was just so in to playing . As you know he played with lots of great musicians and bands , this was just put up to show how much he was loved by so many and how incredible he sounded...being a Brit I didn't get many chances to catch his magic for real but I did twice with Man and once with Nick and those memories will never die ...

  • The Dead at their peak. There was a great band around that time playing around the Bay Area called the "Dinosaurs". Cipollina was lead, Robert Hunter on rhythm, Bill Kreutzmann on drums and some others (I think!!!). I love his sound.

  • @clarkewi ..yer right mate Dinosaurs had a few line ups Barry "the Fish" Melton was also there along with a host of others...like Spencer Dryden etc..by the way was Great to see you guys lift the cup...

  • Thanks 2 all u humble ppl that took the time 2 find and share John C's magic...may u all be blessed!!!

    U all know who u are!!! :)

  • Cippolina looks like half Keith Moon, half John Cleese but with long hair.

  • Went to see the Capton . Wow what a Jam this is so good and well recorded........ and Live 5 Stars

  • @unviciouscircle Yep, u got that right, Dave...hope all's cool with & yours!!! :)

  • @jltardiff LOL you nuts ? I like Cipollina a lot , but he is not even half the guitar genius Jerry and actually Bob as well are.

  • I actually could recognise Phil's bass. He's such a unique player

  • @unviciouscircle No Problem, I am just a HUGE QMS fan. Who knows what woulda/coulda/shoulda been. Cipollina was head and shoulders above most guitarists around back then. Jeez, what a shame when he died. He and Jerry were best of friends, I know that. Different styles.....Jerry so laid back....John liked to play those stinging leads......Miss em both! Damn.
