My seventh video-essay focusing on the great hero-pulp characters from the 1930's and 40's. This video features a rare and little-known pulp title that combined the air-war and sci-fi genres: "Dusty Ayres and his Battle Aces".

Oh yes... Sky Captain drew a lot of its inspiration from the pulp magazines, movie serials, and comics that came before it.
