@mythicalhell OK. Simply "God" then. Works for me. ;)

@Redskin1040 Yes, I am nit picky. why is gender so important to me? It's not, you're the one identifying your god in a particular gender not me. LOL I call your god "it"(or simply god) as I have no idea what this god is.

@mythicalhell Aren't we nitpicky! Him is the most used reference to God/Allah/Yaweh/Jehovah, what have you. So I used "Him". He (or whatever you want to reference God) is all the same one God. Why is gender so important to you?

@finlarg "but I still haven't found anything..." Yeah, I'm thinking more and more that there's nothing super natural to be found. Maybe we'll find ET some day, if so and they're friendly, that would be very cool but I'm not counting on finding anything.
peace

@Redskin1040 When you have accepted him? Do you really believe in a "male" god. Also, which god are you referring to, Allah?
-
@mythicalhell I think you've misssed my meaning here. To me blind faith is when you follow someone's idea of God or religion without question. Real faith is acheived when after you question your faith and have come to the conclusion that you have a relationship with God because you have accepted Him and not someone's version of Him because a million others do.

@mythicalhell LOL!

@Redskin1040 you said, "Or you can have real faith and live in the love of God, receive understanding and discernment." Real faith vs blind faith? People you claim that have "blind faith" and follow what you say is "any religion" believe with all of their heart that their faith is "real" and they live in the love of their god and receive understanding and discernment. How arrogant of you to see your faith as something real and their's as not. WOW!

@Redskin1040 you said, "Call me crazy :)" Ok, "you're CRAZY."
I believed in god for 31 years. Then I heard Matt D. on the Atheist Experience say the turning point for him from theist to atheist was when he actually did extensive research, looking for evidence to support the existence of god. Matt found lots of evidence but it was against the existence of god. So, I said to myself, why do I believe in god? The answer was because religious people said god exists. Lame reason to believe so I too decided to do the research, and I'm not a christian now.

@mythicalhell Your story sounds more straightfoward than what I've heard from many Christians. They talk about an 'experience' and a 'knowing' which is more profound than what a skeptic like me can know... And then, of course there are the literalists who cannot address questions or acknowledge contradictions in the Bible.
I've been looking for evidence for telepathy, souls and the afterlife for as long as I can remember, not really in a religious context, but I still haven't found anything...

@finlarg Believe what u want, we will all find out in the end. What is ur thoughts on how the earth and man exists? One day we will all lay our eyes on the son of man and have to answer for everything we did in this life. My comment is not unsupported is all written in the Bible. Maybe u should really try reading it.

@sexymama32ish I believe what seems most plausible. This process has made me change my mind about things several times as I increase my knowledge and understanding of the world.
We and our planet are made of atoms which were forged within an exploding star over 4.5 billion years ago. We all obey the known laws of physics.
Of course there is still much which is unknown to us, but my reading and knowledge of the bible has not convinced me of it's authenticity, at least not on a literal level.
