Typical Christain you deserve more likes man.

@AtypicalChristian Just a moment please. If we are having a sincere, serious discussion - as it seems well possible we might be, then I think it is only fair to concede the point I made or offer evidence that I am wrong. In fact, I am happy to be wrong, but it seems dishonest to just ignore the point. Please address the issue that Old Testament law was well established 450 years before the "time of Jesus". After that I am happy to return with you to this point you wish to revisit.

@g24417 You: "To obey Christ must include his direct order to embrace the ENTIRE Bible." Me: "okay sure whatever forget that the bible didn't even exists when Jesus was around and that books were picked and chosen years after his death."
Once again tell me where it says to be a Christian I have to take the Bible as flawless or even take all the gospel accounts of Jesus as fully accurate, literal, or displaying the exact message of the historical Jesus? How do explain people like Spong?
-
@AtypicalChristian Sorry - slight correction. The book(s) Jesus commands you to follow, the book(s) that also command you to kill homosexuals, were assembled 450 years before Jesus (assuming Jesus was a real person). I went and looked it up because I wasn't too sure about the earlier figure I gave you (400 years). At any rate - either you are very confused about the bible, you are confused about Jesus, or someone has just fed you a bunch of lies and you didn't bother to research it.
-
@AtypicalChristian Well I am not sure where you get your basis for not killing the gays - other than its wrong. You would think Jesus / god would know its wrong - wouldn't you? Also, you are confused. The old testament that Jesus commands you to follow and also commands you to kill gays was compiled 400 years before Jesus (assuming there was such a person). The books that you are referring to are the new testament books - which were written and chosen years later.
-
@g24417 okay sure whatever forget that the bible didn't even exists when Jesus was around and that books were picked and chosen years after his death. Forget that he often challenged those who claimed to held up the law whatever you're right I'm just going to go kill gay people now.
-
@AtypicalChristian Sure, I'll pretend for a moment there is a reason to believe "Christ" was a real person & the Bible conveys his story. His godly claims are rooted in the authority of the old testament. Additionally, he explicitly stated that everyone must follow every law of the old testament. To obey Christ must include his direct order to embrace the ENTIRE Bible. It is unclear if Jesus meant "love abominations" (fags), but it is crystal clear they must be killed even if you love them.
-
@g24417 Simple. Someone defines Christian as someone who attempts to be Christ-like and they feel that Christ would not condemn homosexuality or want those who are homosexuals to be killed. Also to say the Bible is a Christan Book doesn't really make a lot of sense because the Bible is 66 books most of which are Jewish book written by and for Jews.
-
@AtypicalChristian it is hard to imagine how a Christian could be a Christian unless they, at the very least considered the Bible credible. The Bible orders everyone to kill homosexuals - no choice. That is the Christians book - if a "Christian" doesn't "believe" that homosexuals should be killed then they have no business pretending the Bible is a good book. It seems obvious that promoting the bible is immoral, but I guess it is popular and fun for some reason.

@g24417 what? I hope you know this makes no sense. I mean you keep treating Christianity as a monolith when I don't think any major religion has ever been as such. Not all Christians are opposed to homosexuality just like not all Christians think the Bible is flawless and just like you have Sunni and Shiite Muslim and Reformed and Orthodox Jews. I mean come on.
So your message is:
The campaign is not supporting "it gets better"
but rather "bad things don't last forever?"
I think it's that mindset that allows bad things to last forever.
And it's funny that you mention gospel,
any gospel left to force gays to "renounce their sins"?
Maybe to cleanse themselves before the almighty lord and repress their true sentiments.
Sure gets better for them after their psyches are subjugated by religion doesn't it?
