@GenXCypher i thought it was because the pasma begins to damage the reactor walls.dont quote me on it though!
-
@GenXCypher the energy required to stop plasma touching the wall is enormous, these reactors are not self sustaining yet.
-
what the hell was i watching for the past 4:29 minutes????
-
@GenXCypher the plasma has a temperature of 100 million degrees and cannot make any contact with the surrounding walls. And that is one hell of a problem :-)
-
@246867fraser by using ion drives, it's a form of electric propulsion system
-
Easy. Just use something to cool down the reactor like water -> the water heats up -> it expands (turns into steam) and then just funnel it out of the craft and it pushes the craft forwards.
-
@GangsterHutterite you're simply wrong. proof is in the pudding. the conception of ITER isn't based on science fiction.
-
@GenXCypher Well we have enough caves and enough piles of junk, but we don't have a tony stark..
-
Tokamaks aren't the way for fusion. It's simply to expensive and the results aren't promising so far.
Practical Fusion will come through methods like DPF and MTF first. Look up General Fusion on the Google.

@GenXCypher i think they can't find a way to direct created energy away from it and they don't know how to deliever fuel to make it work for a longer time
exuse me for my english
greetings from Latvia
what is it preventing our fusion reactors from running any longer? what is the obstacle?
