@charlitunaman2002 Actually we know a fair bit about how and why the ocean and atmosphere exchange CO2. Yes people aren't involved. You seem to miss the important part. Of all the CO2 we're putting into the air half is absorbed by the ocean because the ocean absorbs more than it emits. If it wasn't, and soon it may not, it would be warming faster.

@charlitunaman2002 I believe you left out the biomass CO2 sink which is as large as the Ocean's. This makes the atmospheric CO2 sink extremely small in comparison. Ninety-six billion tons annually each from the ocean and about the same from the biomass. Only 6 billion tons annually from man made sources of which only half remains in the atmosphere. CO2 atmospheric turnover rate is approximately 5 years.
