This is from Karen Finley's 1994 collection of spoken word performances from the show by the same title. This is genuine creative catharsis. In the piece, Karen examines the process of healing after the suicide of her close friend, queer icon, and performance artist Ethel Eichenberger. Karen is one of the bravest artists working today, specifically for drawing our attention to the institutionalized traumas we endure daily, rendering herself very vulnerable while inspiring us.
