The sun shinning does make all the diffence in the world. I lived in the Adiorondacks growing up and its cold and gloomy for weeks at a time. I lived in San Diego for 8 years and come on don't need to say anything about that. Now I live in NC and while cool winters it's always sunny. That's all I got. Bye Bye.
Tinny just so you know I have one of the older m5s and the 12cm pot stand legs do fit is plenty stable enough. I did a burn test and boiled a msr titan full of water in under 7 min. Just to let you guys know.
Tinny, being the proud owner of the MooDoo #1 my vote is to leave the m5 alone. I am not sure why one would mess with a working stove such as the m5, its already a fantastic design with a wide base.
tell them to buy an m-6 or the new m-7, m-8, or m-9 when they come out...why would you go sideways? Ever forward, dragging the community kicking and screaming into the future of ultra light backpacking...ha ha!
The ft/lbs question was from me and I'm in the United Kingdom. Without a firearms licence we are limited to 6 ft/lbs for air-pistols and 12 ft/lbs for air-rifles.
Most pistol shooting is done at 10 yards but we do also have something called FT and HFT competitions where you can use pistols at targets placed at different distances usually 30 targets in a round.
Using pistols for this is HARD as the targets are usually 1.5 inches or smaller in diameter!

The ft/lbs question was posed from the UK / United Kingdom. Tinny, not Austrailia. Both Countries, would have different gun laws I would imagine.

It's good fun shooting at balloons though!
