On Oct 29 2009 just after 11PM. Units were dispatched to the 5800 blk Oakland St for an MVA. Engine 31 arrived to find a single vehicle MVA and the car wrapped around a light pole. The driver was heavily entrapped. Firefighters worked tirelessly to free the woman from the wreckage, but this was a difficult task as the car was pinned against the pole and gave firefighters limited access. After removing the passenger door, windshield & roof, the crews jacked the car up and pushed the car away from the pole thus giving them the access they needed to free her. The patient was transported to RCH with minor injuries. Weather conditions and speed likely played a role in the crash.
