  • BP:Malcolm McLaren consciously transplanted the NYC sound he dug to the UK via the Sex Pistols. Ramones&early Television(when the band was "more driving & crazed",as Richard Hell recalled) were playing punk style music in early '74 . Pistols didn't exist till well into '75. In early '74 Hell was sporting the punk look the Pistols copied: short spiked hair, torn&"customized" tee shirts...McLaren played Hell's Blank Generation to Rotten & told him to write his own version:!Result:Pretty Vacant!

  • very insightful and honest.

  • Nice to see this now too about the explosion of punk !!!

.... i look out for the next episode.:)
