I just cleaned out my refrigerator to this music. It was the PERFECT score. Isn't it amazing the way J.G. gets such a huge variety of crazy, creepy, otherworldly sounds from the traditional orchestra? He is my hero.

I know what you mean, but most of the crazy otherworldly sounds are using rare ethnic instruments.
i.e. that sound at the beginning that sounds like a wind blowing is the sound of someone blowing through an Indian Conch (large shell). He also used an ecoplex (early electronic system used to add reverb to strings), serpent, shovar, and didgeridoo.
