noo way, they are way to aggressive and smarter and more complex than wolves and would try to dominate you and if domesticated would become very depressed and agitated

@BabylonRenaissance lol no they aren't. African wild dogs share the same habitat as the spotted hyena but they are in no way related. African wild dogs are in the Canidae family (otherwise known as canines, along with foxes, wolves, coyotes etc.) while Hyenas are in the Hyaenidae family. Hyenas share no relation to canines, Hyenas are more closely related to weasels than dogs.

Eric Douglace is probably jackin it to this right now...

@AshiStarshade hyenas have round ears, long necks, a mane, a different build, and completely different markings. I'm no animal expert and even I know how different they are.

No, wolves are canis lupus. Our dogs are canis domesticus.

@MOVIEfreak32 Well, I don't know if it's fair to compare them to wolves. They're both Canids but they are very different animals. AWD's are not smarter than wolves, but they're faster. Also, they're about the same as wolves when it comes to societal complexity, but they are also one of the few predator species that will cooperate with other groups within the species rather than fight for territory. They used to run in packs of up to 100! Simply amazing, and sad that they are endangered.
