Originally Katherine didn't like Helena and she was Stefan's fiance' when she fell from the balcony at Wyndemere. Helena saved her life after the fall and Katherine came back a completely different person; Helena's lap dog basically.

Too weird how there could be so much chemistry between patch and kayla and almost none between Stefan and Kayla.... guess it does have to do just as much with the characters as the portrayers.

I never saw any real chemistry between Stefan and Katherine either. I always thought she was an extremely boring character though, so I might be overlooking what the Steve/Kayla fans were seeing.

I think the difference was that Steve & Kayla were both well liked characters outside of them as a couple and Stefan & Katherine weren't, at least in my eyes!lol
