At great personal risk, in this video recently smuggled out from Tibet, Tibetans say there was more freedom and happiness in old Tibet prior to Chinas occupation and blame Communist China of causing unprecedented misery to the people of Tibet during the last five decades of its rule.
This video interview is taken by Rinchen Sangpo. Born in Akyong, a village in Golog, Amdo, in 1965, he went to the village primary school as a child. At 14, he ordained as a monk at the Tongkyab Monastery and remained there until 2008.

"Cry of the Snow Lion" is on youtube. I prefer "Dispatches Undercover in Tibet" which was done in 2008.

Rent Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion. My brother traveled through China and got the complete opposite impression. "We Tibetans Are Not Free" explains why people seemed happy, educated, etc. under the current gov. Apparently, they'll be harmed if they appear otherwise.
