This is Chapter 6 of our April 2007 trip to Ireland.
We left Tralee early in the morning and drove to Killarney National Park in County Kerry.
We took the guided tour of Ross Castle which has been restored recently. Then we took a boat tour around Lough Leane, down through the Meeting of the Waters where three lakes connect, through Muckross Lake.
The tour included a stop at Inisfallen Island where there are ruins of a 12th century oratory and a later monastery.
Next we went to visit Muckross Abbey which was founded in 1448.
