I know it's way late, but I am just watching this episode now so fuck it I'm going to say this. In Etrian Odyssey after you complete the first quest, the shop will sell warp wires which get you to the town without the back tracking, those are needed to in the lower levels of the dungeon. I just felt it should be said, because it sounds like you missed that item.

good show but too long. maybe for some of us you should create a shorter version of every episode.
