  • Glad I see some sense. People keep on punching from Ichimonji, knowing it's a kamae, that is to say a mental and physical attitude. Doesn't mean you have to punch from this position, especially since punching from this position is long, visible and easy to counter. No lunging punch in ninjutsu..

  • @Fitz972 the reason for this is that it is a Shindenfudoryu punch which is from Shizen no Kamae, and therefore natural; the other ones (from a drawn back Ichimonji) then are... un-natural. That is sort of the main point. But ninjutsu is something it overlapse with. I agree with you. Ninjutsu should be natural, and the ultimate naturalness in Bujinkan is found in Shindenfudoryu.

  • @BujinkanTurkiye Well... that is how Ichimonji no kata start. Uke attacks with a punch moving from ichimonji no kamae to ihen no kamae, right? So what do you think is wrong?

  • 17 years past from this video, still in most of the Dojos people punch from Ichimonji , why?
