I have a YLOD PS3 which I will test to see if using the hair dryer trick really can fix it.

  • Thank you so much <3

You don't understand how much this has helped me. The PS3 only lasted about 5 minutes but it was enough time to retrieve the stuck game and a few save files.

  • I'm probably going to try this and see if I can make a backup. I have about 30 games, the backup takes about 1 and a half hour. I hope it will last long enough.

I made a backup before, but that's already a year ago.

  • Just wanted to say thanks for this video, the first time I tried it, the PS3 was only on for a few minutes, I tried again like you did, and the PS3 has been on for over 15 minutes and I am running the backup utility now. THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • @707xyx Realy will that work?!!?!?

  • it works but it's better if you have the hair dryer for 20 minutes on the ps3 does and then in the refrigerator or freezer for a few minutes

  • This is so stupid... really! don't do this! fix the issue. The issue is sony because of environmental regulations used lead free solder on the gpu and cpu now since they were forced to use the crap the connections are breaking causing the ylod issue. The only real way to fix this is to reball the gpu and cpu or do a complete reflow of the cpu and gpu. This method ^^^^^^^^^ will just break your ps3!!!!! it will cause more harm!

  • u r a gangsta it worked for a year now thx for video keep it up

  • cool might try it

  • dude this didnt even work. i guess mine is just old. any ideas why it doesnt work?

  • Sorry if my english is not very good but i need HELP

My FAT80g died two days ago, it already died 4 months ago, i send it to a professional reballing store and it worked, but last week i was playing games and the console just turned off by itself and everytime i turn it back on the time it took to turn off was shorter, now its just YLOD, the store wont accept the guarantee since they say the problem is not caused by what they fix but something completly different,

can i do this to do backups?

  • This did work for me the first time! Lasted about a week. Then it died again. Stupid me didn't think to get a new PS3 and transfer the data over with what time I did have, which was like a full week of playing games on it again. Trying the hair dryer technique again and it's not working. I'll keep trying, but it does work people! Just very temporary!! Good video though. Should instruct people to remove their hard drives though. Could be extremely dangerous! Very easy to do so def do that as wel
