-
hey i have a question--- so you hooked up the two using the mini display port to hdmi adapter but what about sound? i want to watch movies on it and i was wondering do i need another cable for sound or will the hdmi do it all? thanks
-
hey what are you playing the sound from? is it through your tv or a sound system? and also is that the aluminum macbook (*not the macbook pro) when they first released the aluminum casing? thanks
-
can you see better quality in picture then dvi

I was just thinking about something i seen in a different video about if you go into "settings > Audio > Output" you can select an option to output your audio through the hdmi port. I know that this work in the latest macbook pros but i'm not sure about the latest macbooks. I would really like this tested as i can't get the sound to work through my 3.5mm audio cable.
Any answers would be appreciated =D

Hey mate, is it good quality on the tv when you watch standard avi movies downloaded from a torrent?? like if you search a movie like "The Hangover", the most seeded torrent will be in avi format, will that be good quality in full screen??

@benparko89 DVDrips in avi formats are OK if your quite far from the TV, but i recommend downloading 1080p HD movies for full benefit of your HDTV!

Should I do this for my 48 inch LCD? I really just want to watch high def videos on my tv without the hassle of my xbox 360. This seems like a great alternative. Oh, and what about sound.

@peacefrog12321 You can do this with your LCD tv to watch HD videos, you'll have the advantage of being able to browse the web, show pictures etc.. compared to your xbox 360.
For sound you can plug it via a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack to jack cable directly on the tv or with an optical cable on your home cinema system

How do you get it to work when closing the screen? I have the same adapter and when i close the screen it puts the computer to sleep.

@SomewhatCloser You need an external mouse or keyboard plugged in to wake it up or apple remote
