    Requirements for eating crabs: Crabs, beer, newspaper. Thats it. I'm from VA and have been eating blues all my life. No knives, no mallets...just crabs, beer and newspaper. I'm not slamming Kahl777 for using a knife, but you don't need it. All ya gotta do is dislocate that claw by pulling it backwards then pull it out, then crack the claw leg with your teeth. The shell will break and you're in there. I cringe when I see folks use a mallet (thats a big no-no)...but, to each his own.
