  • cool lesson, thanks for sharing. nzd seems like a good buy for carry traders. any long term thoughts on nzd?

  • Hi Kidmercury, Thanks for the comment I am glad you like the lesson. While the NZD has high rates now currencies also move on interest rate expectations, something which we are going to explore in part 3 of this series. As you can see from the chart of the NZD/USD the pair has sold off rather significantly lately as many think the NZD economy is cooling and will therefore be less likely to raise rates in the future and more likely to hold steady or cut. Best Regards, Dave

  • Great videos! Just a silly question from a newbie: judging from the readings, the interest is earned overnight. Why don't people buy/sell before the market closes and do the same thing when the market re-opens? Can you still earn interest or do you really have to hold your position long-term to earn the interest?

  • I had a question , where we can see the interest rate for all country ??

  • good info

  • this does expose you to overnight risk though.

  • i don't see how you would pay $15 to short NZD/USD.

  • worst fear: I long the carry trade and the carry currency falls
