It is not SOP for the Fed to lend out 2.2 TRILLION DOLLARS! If the banks were not in distress Bernanke would have no problem telling us who they are unless they were say AIG or Goldman Sachs!! Funny how Goldman Sachs paid us back so quickly so that they could all get their million $ bonuses! I guess it pays to have those FED connections.

BTW, I do not work at Goldman Sachs. I do hope to get a job there in the future (after I graduate from college). I hear they pay well.

Look, I have no sympathy for Bernanke or Greenspan. Now, does that mean that I should see conspiracy theories everywhere? Does that mean that I should believe whatever people who are against the Fed say? No. In this particular case Bernie Sanders is just using Bernanke as an escape goat. Bernanke is an easy target, to the extent that Sanders can make as many fallacious observations as he wants and sound good on the account that he is attacking Bernanke.

I have nothing against Bernie Sanders but he surely has no idea of what he is talking about. The "loans" referred to in this video are not meant to aid financial institutions in distress. They are just part of how the federal reserve system works. The Fed issues currency and distributes it to banks in the form of loans (they charge an interest over them); of course, not all banks have access to loans from the Fed, which might be regarded as unfair.

Well if anyone doubted who is boss, the government or the fed, this video pretty much settles that debate. Request to Sir Ben Bernake denied...now get back to work and don't question decisions made in the boardroom.

I remember Ben saying he was disgusted by the behaviour of the banks. See, Ben is so disgusted, so angry, that he has decided to get tough and punish them by giving them even more money.
