A Batman 3 Wish List

Like it says, this is my wish list of characters I really hope to see in the next Nolan Batman film! Its just a slideshow I threw together in an hour or so just for fun.

Read on for my rationale:

From the way TDK ended, I think a possible theme the next movie will center on is the theme of redemption. Batman is seeking redemption for himself in the eyes of Gotham, becoming the hero he is in the comics. A villain who would fit in strongly with such a theme would be Black Mask, the alter ego of billionaire businessman Roman Sionis. He returns to Gotham after a long period away, determined to take over the city as a businessman and as a mob boss. Bruce Wayne will feel conflicted fighting this guy because he sees parallels of himself in him (he and Roman have a similar upbringing and I would also imagine that Bruce and Roman could have known each other in their youth and even been friends once). Now they are enemies because of the hatred and envy Roman develops for Bruce after everything that goes wrong with his company (he can never seem to get the better of his rival). The theme of redemption comes into play because even though Bruce knows Roman is probably a lost cause and must be brought to justice for his crimes as Black Mask, he will try to redeem him somehow anyhow (and ultimately fail). But in the process Batman will end up achieving redemption for himself.
Black Mask is also a great villain simply because it would allow us to see Christian Bale being Bruce Wayne more :).

My favorite actor for him is Guy Pearce because I honestly cant think of anyone who could do it better. Plus I'm convinced that Guy Pearce facing off against Christian Bale in a Christopher Nolan movie is destiny.

Deadshot I threw in there because I figured this film might need a supplementary villain of sorts. Since Black Mask in this scenario would really be more of a psychological enemy to Batman, an assassin like Deadshot (who works under Black Mask) would be a strong physical enemy. Batman must overcome him before he can get to Black Mask at the end of the film. Hed also provide for some great trailer footage :).
I havent picked an actor for him yet because hes not as important a character to this whole hypothetical movie, so there are a lot more options when it comes to casting him. Its hard narrowing down to just one choice.

Finally, I am one of those fans who think Catwoman is a must. Its guaranteed that a new female will be introduced to be a love interest, and Catwoman is too important to the Batman mythos to not include her. Besides, she hasnt actually been adapted faithfully to the big screen yet. That Catwoman flick a few years back was an abomination, and the one in Batman Returns, while she was cool in her own way, was way too Tim Burton-ish. The real Catwoman, aka Selina Kyle, would be a socialite/businesswoman who captures the attention of Bruce Wayne with her charm, mysteriousness, intelligence and beauty. By night she is a cat-burglar, stealing from the rich and the corrupt. She tantalizes Batman, who is hesitant to try and stop her crime spree because he likes her, of course.
She would tie neatly into the story because she could be a businesswoman working for Roman Sionis and also becomes Black Masks enemy because she steals from him (she and BM have significant ties in the comics as well). Nolan was quoted as saying that he envisions his next Batman movie to be a small, personal story just filmed on a huge scale. That small, personal story he envisions could perfectly be that of the interconnecting lives of Selina Kyle, Roman Sionis and Bruce Wayne, who all know each other and each happen to be leading secret, dual lives.
Batman will wish to redeem Catwoman too, because she is a darker version of him and is in danger of going too far. She represents the escalation that Alfred has warned Bruce about. Whether or not he saves her in the end would be up to Nolan and his writing team, I suppose :).

My favorite actress for Catwoman is most definitely Natalie Dormer because I think she has all the purrfect qualities to play her. Her beauty is of the unconventional kind not like any other actress out there (she even has feline-like features), and she is very good at being alluring, mysterious, charming, playful but also vulnerable. She was all of these things and more while playing Anne Boleyn in the Showtime miniseries The Tudors. She also has the physicality for the role because shes a classically trained dancer. She may not be well known but Nolan tends to go for out-of-the-box choices and I can easily see her making the Catwoman/Selina role her own. Plus she and Christian Bale would make an amazing on-screen couple.

So in the end this movie would be about redemption and to another degree, duality (and also temptation with Catwoman).

You got Catwoman! Really interesting and original choice of Natalie Dormer (I was expecting overexposed Angie). However, I'm glad for Anne Hathaway, fits perfectly.

How about Matthew Goode for Deadshot?

The key 2 these movies are that the enemies are realistic so there cant be any supernatural enemies like bane or killer croc and i luv the idea of harley quinn but i dont think it can be done without the joker and there is absolutely no way u can recast the joker!!

i wish..they would restart the whole thing but make it good,but for furtue villains in this storyline u have to at least touch on joker&dent,and this would be a good time to introduce arkham and harley quinn but a stronger villain would be better for me either bane(a real comic version),killer croc,or clayface and then a weaker more "mainstream" villain just to get it out of the way like catwomen or riddler ect.but my fav and what i think would be most interesting(if done right)scareface

i think their should be dueling tala head and cat woman these two would provide an interesting choice for bruce tala who would appear to be prim and proper socialite( i would do so at first it would be unknown that she is raz al gouls daughter) and cat woman who live free and is full of live but blurs batman black and white sense of right and wrong

This Batman has already meet deadshot (Gotham Knight) so the actor they find will be much like the one they have in that cartoon. If Deadshot is in the movie.
