Halo 3 No achievement UNSC Spartan,glitch

I'm a Brigaider grade 3 and still no UNSC spartan achievement.
Yes i've heard you can get it by getting to lieutenant in the new ranking system but that hasnt worked for me unfortunatly.im a lieutenant or over in 8 playlists so , definetly no achievement for me or mark v helmet...
-dont bother trying to contact bungie or microsoft the last thing they can do is help so dont waste your time.

meh it's only a achievement in the end and a really cool helmet and prevents me getting 100% gamerscore on halo.

if anyone got any ideas on how to fix this comment or message

I am a grade 3 seargent ( I don't play that much ) and no acheivment or Mark 5, I want that helmet!
