  • Monks disrupt Tibet media tour

Tibetan monks on Thursday embarrassed China by staging a protest and voicing their support for the Dalai Lama in front of visiting foreign reporters in Lhasa

    The protest, defying tight security.

About 30 monks shouted pro-Tibetan slogans and in support of the Dalai Lama as journalists toured the Jokhang Temple, one of Tibet's holiest shrines.

One monk shouted "Tibet is not free, Tibet is not free" before he started to cry, an AP journalist at the scene reported

  • I recommend a book named "A History of Modern Tibet, 1913-1951: The Demise

: of the Lamaist State" by Melvyn C. Goldstein.

  • then where are the fucking evidences?

dllm published a list of dead people.

the lasha governmen checked it one by one, none of them are real.

  • As I remember DLLM said that 180 people was shot, never claimed that it was only monks! Besides there are monks from other monateries in Lhasa too!

    You are stupid!

  • the monks said that they never joined the roit, they had been detained in the tempel, couldn't walk out, those who did it were fake monks.

but DLLM claimed that 180 monks were shot during the roit.

if the monks were detained, how could they be shot? the dead monks must be ccp's, then they had nothing to complain.

    stupid!

  • very courageous monk, they have given up they life to tell the truth of cruel ccp, they know they will be tortured in prison.

  • In old Tibet before 1950, 88 percent of Tibeten people were born as slaves. Slaves didn't belong to themselves, they belong to their slave masters who occupied 5% of Tibeten population at that time. Slaves could be sold, bought, abused at the will of their masters!

I admire Lincoln, the greatest former US president because he abolished the slave system in Southern America. Lincoln is always the hero in my heart.

Those Chinese who abolished the slave system in Tibet in 1950s are heros either!

  • That's funny. The monk said:"Because they don't trust us, they have tempted us to do all the beating, crashing and robery... but we didn't do any of these. We were kept inside the temple. They have arranged people among them..." Why so ambiguous? Who are "they"? If the monks we detained inside all this time, how did they know who exactly were out there? Can they gurantee for monks of another temple? lol. Deceived people will just pass on the lies. Thanks to the media of the West.
