haha, i was just talking to a friend about how fingernail polish wears off so much faster than toenail polish, and I said that's because we wash our hands so much more often probably. She was like, well you could wash your feet just as often too. And the whole nonsensical conversation made me think... "Why don't we wash our feet before we eat? Because we don't eat with our feet"
Then i had to look this up on youtube for nostalgia.
At times I will still wash my feet before I eat becasue of the memory of this song. I am 36 yrs! I'll tell myself ... we don't eat with our feet. Oh well
I didn't actually wash my feet, that I can remember anyways...but somehow in my mind I had developed the idea that in some cultures people wash their feet before they eat, and I have told peopl ethis every now and again. I also remember the little jingle only I remembered it "oh yeah, we wash our feet before we eat"... how could I have been so obtuse!
Hahaha, it's comforting to know that other people out there were tricked into putting their feet in the sink... As I was doing it I remember thinking "this doesn't really make sense", but obviously Sesame Street doesn't lie. This has drifted in my mind from time to time for like 20 years, and now the lyrics to the song are clearly saying you don't have to wash your feet, because you don't use your feet to eat. Christ...
