New information has emerged which raises many questions about the punishment handed out to swimmers Nick D'Arcy and Kenrick Monk over that gun photo. This could embarrass Swimming Australia.

In 2007 Members of the 2007 Olympic Swimming team preparing for Beijing were taken to a Canberra rifle range and were able to use the weapons. The session was paid for by the Australian Sports Commission and was promoted along the lines it would get their focus ready and an edge over their competitor. In fact, photos of Libby Tricket firing guns were actually promoted and published in all of the major newspapers around Australia.

Eamon Sullivan who is now a current team member of Monk and D'Arcy says since that Facebook photo has appeared and the reaction to it, it now really does look like double standards.
