@yoramstein Yes my sisters HP was overheating and she continued to use it anyways running a regular fan behind it to try to keep it cool but it did not work and that is when she started seeing the lines in her LCD Screen so I think the lines were a result of the laptop getting overheated repeatedly I can say with certainty because it's been about 6 months since I cleaned out, repaired, and replaced her LCD and fan and it's still running great today.

@carguyx50 - I got als those colored vertical strips on my HP lap top.My question-was that the LCD screen of your sisters laptop that caused the problem?

Wow. The reason I looked this up was because my laptop was on my bed, while I was watching stuff. Then the fan made a loud whirring noise, then black stuff started coming out of the vent thing. and I literally freaked out thinking my laptop was gonna burn inside because of the overheating thing. :)) ahahaha.
If I had a dollar for every pixel on this screen, I'd have $1.

On topic: I borrowed one for a short while after my main laptop died, Someone must've been high on something when they decided to stuff a desktop 3.0 GHz Pentium 4 inside a laptop. The thing ran hot even doing nothing. Still, the Radeon x600 allows it some worth in today's MMOs.

@Adrammalech7570 Yes I am very aware that the "quality" (for lack of a better word) of the video is crap.
You're right about the CPU though. The P4 is probably the hottest desktop CPU I've seen. It used to run hot even on my desktop with a decent cooler. How they though it would be OK in a laptop is beyond me. This was my first laptop so I was thinking "power" and "desktop replacement" when I bought it, not cooling, battery lifetime and portability. Served me well though.

@yosuanizardon Check the links I added to the video description. The first one is a PDF which details how to take apart the laptop. It is fully detailed and tells you exactly which parts need to be removed and in which order to reach specific parts.

I think the problem with the Hp Zd8000 is the design. The design and all the vents cause it to intake too much of the outside elements, such as Dust and Hair for example. If the laptop is kept in a nice carrying case the insides will stay free of dust and hair. Do not keep it out all the time where dust and hair can get in it and do not keep it around pets is what I told my sister, lol... ;-) Eager to get a reply from you to see if your problem is solved. I will let you know if mine is solved.

@carguyx50 When I cleaned the laptop back then (the video was posted 6 months ago, but I think I made it more than a year before that) it was like new after I started it and you could only hear fans working when it heated considerably. It only started becoming noisy again now, 1.5 years later, but nothing compared to what it was back then. So yeah, it did solve the overheating problem and the noise problem and it ran much smoother too.
