An example of a rather rare model of the otherwise common NFI D40LF, as a 1991 this bus represents the original model. The main difference between this bus and more modern D40LFs is the engine, it's a Detroit 6V92TA 2 stroke, very rare to find in a low floor bus, yet the rarity is far surpassed by awesomeness. Other differences included an indentation around the rear window as well as slightly different front bumper.

  • Ah very nice! You recorded this bus as well!

  • @busrailfan Yep, now I gotta go chase her down again now that she's been moved to the Fraser Valley.

  • they aound like trolley buses and stop request sounds like ttc's

  • @GordonFreemanD40 These are considerably louder than trolleybuses ;)

they actually have the same engines as most D40s including the ones the TTC had.

  • Is this one of the oldest D40LF's out there?

  • if u go to calgary there are 6V92 D40LFs with the B400R. sounds like our retired 1991 Orion Vs with MAN axles :D

  • @ilovefageols D40s and D60s, high floors, this is a D40LF, a low floor, that's why it's rare.

  • @MVRTA108

Vancouver (CMBC) had at least 177 New Flyer buses with 6V92TA engines. West Vancouver had 3. (Formally CMBC buses). Victoria has at least 31. (Granted 7 of these were transfers from Pentiction.) so all in all 211 New Flyers with 6V92TA engines. Plus whatever ran elsewhere in BC, and Canada.

So not quite so rare! :) lol

  • dagnabbit the D40LF is a rare bus in toronto south, and only place you see it is at queensway areas, and they dont come out even there for some reason:( we need D40LFRs, and quickly....

  • That is rare a 6v92ta engine on a new flyer :D
