This song blew me away when it came out. It's still powerful today,of all the Brit bands at the time, Peter Green and Mac were the shit. Funny, i dig Judas Priest, but i had no idea they covered this.....and i'm not even going to listen to their version

Personally I love both versions, albeit the original slightly more. I listen to the Judas Priest version if I just want to rock the fuck out and listen to Peter Green's version when I'm looking for something depressing, yet beautiful.

@MegaMagicman89 Complete moron. Peter Green is just one of the greatest guitarist ever.

@MegaMagicman89, It doesn't matter how heavy a riff is or how many octaves a singer can sing. If it doesn't sound good what is the point? Tuning down to A will give you a heavy riff but it doesn't mean it will sound good! Peter Green is an amazing guitarist and has contributed greatly to the music world! I don't know if you know but Peter Green took over form Eric Clapton in the Bluesbreakers, that takes talent!

@MegaMagicman89 I don't think the Priest men would agree with what you're saying. The reason they covered those classics is because they actually love those two songs. They didn't cover those 2 songs because they thought the songs were bad.

First time I hear the original, I only knew the Judas Priest version. I love this one as much as Judas Priest's version. This one has a totally different vibe..feeling to the lyrics. Aamzing!

Name anyone even remotely close to this man now. See. You can't.

@MegaMagicman89 I feel sorry for you, you just can't see the whole picture. I am quite happy to listen to Judas Priest's version, it's great. Yeah, the vocals, and guitarwork, truly great. But, unlike you, I also enjoy, just as much or perhaps a little more, this original version. Sometimes it's not the singer, but the song. And whether you like the arrangement, or the musicians, or the singer's voice, there is a connection to the songwriter's soul when they sing it themselves. Even Joan.
