Presented by The Tryfan Show and Sir Tryfan:
Torfaen Friends of the Earth are to host two public exhibitions of plans for a proposed 1,200 house development on the green fields between Pontnewydd and Sebastopol.
The exhibitions, to be held on Monday 28th March (7pm-9pm) in West Pontnewydd Community Hall, (behind the Yew Tree pub on Maendy Way), and on Tuesday 29th March (7pm-9pm) at St Oswald's Church, Wern Road, Sebastopol, will feature large scale maps. There will be an opportunity for people to give their opinions which can be forwarded to the council's planning department.
The planning application, which has been submitted to the council by a consortium of developers can also be examined in County Hall, Cwmbran, Pontypool's Civic Centre and on the planning pages of Torfaen's website http://www.planapps.torfaen.gov.uk/south_sebastopol/ The council has made no arrangements to hold any other public displays of the proposals.
Developers held consultation meetings last November but since that time their plans for the area, known as South Sebastopol, have changed significantly.
Torfaen Friends of the Earth coordinator, Carole Jacob said: "I urge people to attend these exhibitions to see the significant changes and to ensure that their views are known to council planners."
"Sorry about that. Really should sign out to make sure David doesn't go on my account again. Y'know he set up a facebook page dedicated to me- creepy I say! Anyway I completely disagree with him on this point, and we should strive to maintain this idyllic area!" Gandwell
