Here's how I play most of the guitar parts to Gangsters by The Specials.

The first part of the video shows me playing the song live on my Washburn Woodstock Studio A acoustic. The backing track is a simple thing I made in Garageband. A second part shows a little tutorial where I try to show you the chords and fingers I use.

This isn't a note-for-note rendition of the song as it appears on the album. It's just the way I play the song.

Sorry, no tabs.

One tidbit. That intro is actually the riff from Al Capone by Prince Buster. Search for it here on YouTube.

  • Can someone wirte down the chords?

A minor is 577555 he plays X (mute with thumb)77 and 5 first finger over GBE or what? A# major just 1 fret up? D major i know , C is like D but in 3 fret?

  • @VQgel

    A minor 577555

    A flat major 466544

But you're right: most of the time I mute the sixth string with my thumb because I focus more on the high notes.
