  • @ANIMEISHOT256 Definitely, election in particular is a hard pill to swallow at first as a new believer. Paul refers to the doctrine of election the most in the NT and you have to remember that Paul's letters were sent to groups of believers, not non-believers. Such things as calvinism, end times etc. should not be delved into too deeply or at all when witnessing. The best piece of advice I have is simply read your bible, meditate on it and form your own opinion. Hope that helped!

  • I love how piper backs everything he say up with scripture. Literally everything. I never really felt free until I truly discovered the doctrine of election. It's so beautiful. God chose before the foundation of the world. Like a father imposing his will on a son. It's absolutely beauiful

  • @ANIMEISHOT256 the problem is that people try to make the Bible reasonable according to their own understanding. Being discouradging does not make it not true

  • Is it possible to find the entire and exact text of this teaching? I am italian and I would like to translate it for other italian believers...Could anybody help me? :)

  • @JesusNonEnviromental WOW, you were spot on with that..

  • @Makkabee82 Thank you brother

  • @Makkabee82 The word hate was used by you, I simply stated that men should not glory in themselves or boast of some choice as the reason for their salvation.

  • I am Christian, but I say this: sometimes I wonder if it is hard for non-believers to believe because some things even Christians argue amongst themselves. My opinion is, these things should be left to God to decide. Interpreting the mysteries of the Bible (e.g.soveriegnity of God and the book of Revelations) is risky to build pride of who is right. I have no comment whether Calvinism is truth, but If I was a non-believer, and heard of Calvinsm for the first time, it is quite discouraging.

  • Can you imagine those who claim to be the Author of their Salvation and they enter into the Holy of Holies in Heaven and stand before The Almighty God in all His Glory with the Angels about the throne worshipping Him and the Arminian says to God, Thanks be to me and you God after all I did make all the right choices
