Loving Arms by Tom Jans(1948 - 1984)
Tom Jans was a folk musician from California. He was musical partners in the early 70s with Joan Baez' sister, Mimi, for several years. They toured extensively and release one great album, Take Heart (out of print now). After they split in 1972, he made several solo albums, but his career never really got off the ground. He is best known for this song "Loving Arms", which has been performed and recorded by dozens of artists and bands. I had never heard of him before Jane suggested we do this song. In fact I was under the impression that Kris Kristofferson wrote Loving Arms till I dug a bit deeper. It's not likely that many listeners will remember Tom Jans. So here is our little tribute to a forgotten artist.

I never knew this song till several weeks ago thanks to Jane. It seems to be a well covered song...everyone from Elvis to Dobie Gray. This one was patterned after the version Kris Kristofferson did with Rita Coolidge. Thanks for listening. I'm pleased that you liked it !

This is really a great song. You do this better than any other version that I have heard. You should seriously think about recording and selling it.

Mike, as you suggested might be the case in your accompanying notes, this song is unfamiliar, and I had not ever heard of this artist, but I'll tell you what, I don't think any duo could have done this any better than you and Jane. Fabulous work.
