do you guys ever chat, like on a friendly basis? Maybe can tell her and she might be willing to take the shoes off from time to time at least at night time? This is long ago but who knows, you might still live there lol. We live up top,it has it's advantages, but I am very consious especially at night and wlk barefoot so not to wake the woman just below, she gets up earlier. not all are like this sadly enough.
