Special thanks to my brother (cr6707) for recording this footage. I was unable to go after this train so I lent him my video camera for the day.

The Conrail Express is seen at two locations on a rainy October day. This excursion was the centerpiece of the Conrail Historical Society's convention. The train is first seen at a famous location that hasn't seen passenger service for many years--the two bridges at Safe Harbor on the Port Road Branch. It is then seen moving track speed at the Elizabethtown Amtrak station. An eastbound Keystone Service train is also seen at Elizabethtown.

  • What a shame the A&S Branch is abandoned.......

Can you just imagine seeing that train way up there on the Low Grade Trestle!!!

  • Nice pair of spots you picked!

  • AWESOME location!

  • I was on this trip also...I was in one of the SEPTA coaches with 3 of my friends. I didn't appreciate paying the same price as those in the amtrak cars, and I'll leave it at that.

  • Hey Len, Amtrak is renovating both the Lancaster and Elizabethtown Stations.

    Great video!
