Volbeat ist eine Heavy-Metal-Band aus der dänischen Hauptstadt Kopenhagen. Die Band steht bei Vertigo Records unter Vertrag und hat bislang vier Alben und zwei DVDs veröffentlicht. Ihr Stil ist eine Mischung aus Metal, Rock'n'Roll, Punkrock, Country und Blues und wird häufig in Anlehnung an Elvis Presley als „Elvis-Metal" bezeichnet.
Der Bandname stammt von dem Album Vol.Beat der Band Dominus, in der Michael Poulsen vor der Bandgründung von Volbeat gespielt hat.[Dabei steht „Vol" (von Volume, engl. für Lautstärke) für Lautstärke und „Beat" für den Rhythmus.
