@Shewolfen Actually, psychologists and linguists have wondered about the use of "umm" and "aahh", etc., and they've found that it doesn't have anything to do with stupidity or insecurity, though nervous people may use those words more often. It actually has more with comprehension. Use of these words are a kind of break which allows the listener to process what the speaker has so far said. It also allows the speaker to stop and think about his next words.
