Launched in 2010, the UN's 'Getting to Zero' strategy aims to achieve, by 2015, zero new infections, zero AIDS related deaths and zero discrimination. The IFRC believes that this goal is achievable, but it demands a new and shared commitment involving governments, NGO's and civil society that places greater emphasis on HIV prevention and support efforts, particularly amongst marginalised groups. In Thailand, the Red Cross is showing the way.
The 10th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) is being held in Busan, Republic of Korea from 26-30 August. ICAAP is the largest HIV and AIDS forum in Asia and the Pacific and the second largest in the world.
